“Taking you simultaneously to a veranda in Sicily and a back porch in Louisiana, the soundscape in the standout single, Wandering Soul, from the singer-songwriter duo @fretbenders‘ seminal album, Long Overdue, is a beacon for the wanderlust dreamers to follow home.” – The A & R Factory
SHORT BIO: New England Americana band, the Fretbenders, have a sound based in blues, roots music, with a dash of folk and country for good measure. Featuring Diane Kordas, lead vocals, guitar and songwriter for the band; Robert Kordas, vocals, dobro, slide guitars, and banjo. Fun, toe tapping tunes served with humor and fantastic musicianship, where a “down-home barbecue meets a speakeasy.”
Fretbenders have appeared on NH Public Radio, festivals and concert venues throughout New England.

New England Americana band, the Fretbenders, have a sound based in blues, roots music, with a dash of folk and country for good measure. Featuring Diane & Bob Kordas, “Fun, toe tapping tunes served with humor and fantastic musicianship”, where a “down-home barbecue meets a speakeasy.”
Diane provides lead & harmony vocals, guitars and is songwriter for the band; Bob Kordas contributes lead vocals, dobro, National guitar, lap steel, and banjo.
Their songs are a varied as their attention spans. Never wanting to be stuck in any one genre of music, styles vary from jazzy love songs, sultry blues, bluegrass, straight up folk, rock covers, western swing & vintage country. Favorites are Gillian Welch, John Prine, Creedence covers. Plenty of fun tunes.
Their long awaited album released in September of 2022, appropriately named “Long Overdue”, turned out to be a pandemic project on steroids. 15 songs in all, including 12 originals written by Diane. Some songs freshly written for the project, others that had been kicking around for years that just needed some polishing up. It features 12 guest musicians, contributing fiddle, banjo, piano, mandolin, accordion, percussion, bass, and additional harmonies.
The Fretbenders have appeared on NHPR, festivals and concert venues throughout New England.
